Ibiza Hidden Gems - The Best From The White Isle

I have been going to Ibiza since I was a child and ever since then, it has stolen my heart. I also worked there for two summers in 2009 and 2010 and despite working 12 hours a day for minimal money, I loved every second of the experience. I made friends for life and learnt a lot! This Ibiza Hidden Gems guide will show you some of my favourite secret and not-so-secret spots.

Everyone knows if you want to party, Ibiza is the place to go! The superclubs are something special and I am yet to find anywhere else with a better clubbing scene.. the prices are steep but once you accept that it is going to be an expensive trip you just have to embrace it and make the most of every night! You can check out the party calendar for each year at Ibiza spotlight .

In this article though, I want to get away from the party scene and tell you more about the magic of Ibiza……

Best Sunset Spots In Ibiza

Ibiza is known for its world-famous sunsets, so I'm starting my Ibiza Hidden Gems guide with some amazing places for sundowners. Here are my favourites...

Hostel La Torre is a hotel and restaurant with a relaxed and romantic vibe, with DJs regularly playing chilled Ibiza sounds. You can enjoy drinks or dinner in a tranquil, rustic setting perched on a rocky hill overlooking the sea.

Sunset Ashram This authentic beach bar on Cala Conta beach is 20 minutes from San Antonio and offers a modern hippy-style atmosphere with live music. The food menus offer an Indian twist, sushi or Mediterranean dishes so there is something for everyone! The energy here is magical!

Café Mambo This iconic sunset spot in San Antonio is a favourite for all, Café mambo has a DJ from each club night play around 9-10 pm so you can enjoy the music without having to pay a hefty club entry fee! You can also sit on the rocks for free and take your own drink if you are on a budget. Another great option is to watch the famous sunset from a boat in front of Mambos.

Hotel Petunia What a special boutique hotel this is. It has an intimate and romantic ambience and the service is outstanding. It overlooks the magical Es Vedra and offers live music at the weekend. You can either book for food or drinks but I would recommend you don’t visit Ibiza without a stop at Petunia.

Benirras Beach In the north of Ibiza is Cala Benirras, famous for its Sunday night drummers and their hippie ritual whilst the sun is going down, it has a spiritual vibe and there is nowhere else like it. There is also a small hippie market every day except Wednesdays. The nearest resort is Puerto de San Miguel with a small choice of hotels and apartments.

Where To Eat

Casa Maca is a rural and unique hotel & restaurant with stunning views of the Dalt Vila skyline and Ibiza town. The main building is a 300-year farmhouse and is brimming with an authentic country charm. The Spanish chef, David Reartes likes to use only local, organic produce. The dining at the restaurant is alfresco and hosts can enjoy an impressive grill while listening to DJs playing chillout music. Prices are steep so make sure to check out the menu before you visit.

Plaza Del Sol Situated in the old town, this is a beautiful setting with a lovely view of Ibiza, it has a great atmosphere and a real buzz to it. There are lots of lovely restaurants in the old town such as La Oliva, Sa Brisa and La Plaza so check them out and take your pick!

Bambuddha The ‘Mediterrasian’ menu is a unique and excellent selection of Asian Fusion Dishes. You will find an ultra-cool crowd here sipping on cocktails behind a secretive curtain of Bamboo.

Where To Stay

Ibiza has so many different areas and hotels to offer, there is something for everyone. Here are a few of my favourite hotels...

Beachstar for a reasonable stay in a great location this is a hotel worth considering! It is 3* but offers everything you need. There is a DJ every day creating a fun atmosphere, the snack menu is great and each room comes with a kitchenette!

Innside by Melia a 4* hotel located in San Antonio Bay, there are 2 pools, one rooftop and one on the mezzanine level that you can walk straight onto the beach from. The bay also offers reasonably priced restaurants and bars if you want a break from the excessively priced drinks and food elsewhere!

7 Pines Hotel this luxury 5* hotel is certainly not cheap but the hotel definitely lives up to the hype! It is 20 minutes from Ibiza town, has 3 bars, 3 restaurants and luxury spa facilities. Cone Club bar and restaurant is a great spot to watch the sunset and have a few cocktails. This hotel is also a 3-minute walk from the beach.
